Rockford Spine Center Physical Therapist Kim Alexander, ATC, PT, MPT, recently completed training at the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) in Philadelphia for additional training in golf-related injuries and treatments.
The purpose of the course is to help identify golfers’ physical deficiencies that can create swing compensations, which then lead to pain and injuries. Physical therapists who have completed TPI training help golfers develop game plans for strengthening, mobility, flexibility, stability and endurance exercises that lead to a healthier golf game.
The TPI Certification program is an evidence-based, educational pathway designed to teach industry professionals how to increase player performance through a comprehensive understanding of how the body functions during the golf swing.
